Abstract
Renewable Energy Is The Best Source Of Energy Generation Now A Day Across The Globe. EthiopiaHas A Plenty Of Flowing Rivers Throughout The Country. Agriculture Is The Backbone Of The CountryEconomy. Awash River Is One Of The Main Rivers That Used Widely For Irrigation But It Has NoPower Supply Access For Irrigation Purpose. Due To This, Reason The Site Assessments Takes PlaceAt Tedecha In Awash River And Get Average Flow Velocity 1.92m/S. This Velocity Is Too Low To GetThe Required Power Supply For The Purposes Of Irrigation Pumps. Due To This Reason Design TheFlow Accelerator Rectangular Duct That Changes The Velocity From 1.92m/S To 4.6m/S. Based OnThis Flow Velocity Designing The Curtain Hydrokinetic Savonuis Turbine Technology Designed For TheSelected Site And 3d Modeling Of Ducted Hydrokinetic Savonius Turbine With Curtain System IsModeled. From The Designed The Output Power Of The Turbine Is 13.6kw Generated. Based On ThisPower Output Three-Phase Ac Synchronous Stc Generator With The Rated Output Power Of 15kw,Apparent Power Of 18.8kva With 1500rpm Selected And Pump Type Of Electric High Flow RateCentrifugal Water Pump With Maximum Power Rating Of 10kw Were Selected. From The Numerical Analysis Of The Turbine Blade With And Without Curtain Are Analyzed ByPower Coefficient Of Without Curtain Is Maximum At Tsr=0.8 With Cp =0.15 And The MaximumPower Coefficient For Curtain Blade Is At Tsr=1 With Cp =0.28. Therefore, From Those AboveValues Can Be Concluded That The Awash River At Tedecha Has Higher Hydrokinetic Potential ForIrrigation And The Savonius Blade With Curtain Design Is More Efficient Than Without The CurtainBlade.
