A computer network is a critical issue in our day to day activity; however, this day it works under several problems. To solve these problems OpenFlow-based programmable Software-Defined Network (SDN) is released. OpenFlow is a protocol for SDN which vertically separates the control plane from the data plane of the network devices. SDN differs from the traditional networking architecture, where control planes and the data planes exist in the same networking devices. In SDN the controllers are the brains of the network that manages and controls the network devices. Data center network is one of the application areas that required successful integration of distributed OpenFlow controllers by making the network more consistent. However, the need for highperformance SDN controllers?? increases with the increasing of network devices in the data center network. SDN distributed controller is a controller which can increase or decrease the number of controllers according to the change of traffics. Therefore, in this thesis, we have presented a performance analysis in both throughput and latency parameters for the recent SDN distributed ONOS controllers. The aim of this thesis has been to perform a study and performance analysis of SDN distributed controllers in a data center networks by considering two designed topologies. Initially, has been performed a detailed study on SDN distributed controllers and selected the best ONOS controller. Then, we have created three ONOS controllers in a cluster using LXC and designed tree and customized topologies using python in Mininet. Then we have tested, analyzed and evaluated these three ONOS controllers?? throughput, latency, and TCP bandwidth. We have presented the throughput, latency, and TCP bandwidth results of single, two and three ONOS controllers. The single ONOS controller has 60665.22 to 82566.85 flow/s throughput, 62.89 to 94.45 responses/ms latency and 13.5 GB/s TCP bandwidth. Two ONOS controller has 105564.30 to 118911.20 flow/s throughput, 117.53 to 147.91 responses/ms latency and 18.25 GB/s TCP bandwidth. Three ONOS controller has 216816.80 to 229388.90 flows/s throughput, 297.61 to 245.32 responses/ms latency and 19.4 GB/s TCP bandwidth. Single, two and three ONOS controllers per tree topology has high throughput and high response per ms than customized topology. Finally, based on these results have been adapted distributed ONOS controller in a data center networks.en_US
