Abstract
This Study Examines The Comparative Impact Of Conventional And Aluminum Form-Work Systems On Building Construction, Focusing On The Ovid Real Estate Project In Addis Ababa. While Conventional Form-Work Increases Labor Costs And Delays Timelines, Aluminum Form Work Offers Speed, Re-Usability, And Cost Efficiency. The Objective Of This Research Is To Analyze And Evaluate Implementation Processes, Time And Cost Performance, Challenges In Adopting Kumkang Aluminum Form-Work, And Project Quality Using Both Qualitative And Quantitative Research Approach. The Research Combines The Use Of Descriptive And Explanatory Approach In Which Questionnaires, Interviews And Case Studies Are Used To Obtain Relevant Information About The Subject From Professional From Ovid Real Estate Project. Questionnaires (86.6% Response Rate From 52 Participants), Interviews, And Case Studies Data Were Analyzed Using Tools Such As Spss-V27, Excel 2010, And Ms Project. Key Findings Reveal That Kumkang Aluminum Form-Work Reduced Costs By 48.54% (Saving 8,653,220.83 Etb) And Cut Construction Time By 67.6% (190.26 Days Faster) Compared To Timber Form-Work To Construct 13 Floor Blocks. Aluminum Form-Work Also Demonstrated Superior Durability And Re-Usability (Mean = 4.30 Vs. 3.60), Significantly Improving Construction Outcomes (?? = 0.526, P < 0.01). Its Assembly Was Easier, Requiring Less Labor, With A Positive Impact On Performance (?? = 0.342, P < 0.01). Additionally, It Enhanced Material Efficiency (Mean = 4.09), Worker Safety (Mean = 4.09), And Long-Term Cost Effectiveness Despite Higher Initial Investment Cost (Mean = 4.05). However, Challenges Such As High Upfront Costs, Lack Of Skilled Labor, And Limited Technical Support Hindered Adoption (Aggregate Mean = 4.06).The Study Concludes That Aluminum Form-Work Outperforms Conventional Systems In Cost, Time, Durability, Safety, And Sustainability, Making It A Superior Choice For Large-Scale Projects. Addressing Adoption Barriers Could Further Enhance Its Implementation In Ethiopia???S Construction Industry.
