Abstract
Ethiopian Economy Which Is Mostly Agricultural Based Is Suffering Due To Variation In Seasonal Rains, Drought Conditions And Lace Of Well-Developed Irrigation System. The Project Work Employment Is Building A Windmill Water Pump. The Objective Was To Build A Windmill Driven Water Pump For Small-Scale Irrigation. The Project Method Was Selecting Project Area Which Is Based On The Wind Speed And Availability Of Underground Water, Constructing, Selecting Water Pump Type And Test It. The Intention Is That Supporting A Local Farmers To Have Productive Throughout The Year. However, The Windmill Drives A Pump That Pumps Water From A Well Or River To A Tank For Further Use In Irrigation. Calculations Have Been Made On The Energy Available In The Wind And An Energy Analysis Was Then Performed To See What Wind Speed Is Required For The System To Work. Prototype Is Built For Carried Out Test For The Analysis Of Actual Project Output. A Project Is Designed To Pump 50 Cubic Water Per Day. The Tests That Have Been Performed During The Circumstances At The Time Showed That The Performance Of The Windmill Is Sufficient To Feed A 5 Hectare Of Cereal Grains In All Season Throughout The Year. Finally Concluded That A Project Result Obtained Is So Far Encourage.
