Abstract
Now A Day Plant Based Fiber Composites May Become Materials To Replace Synthetic Fiber Polymer Based Composites Due To Their Low Cost, Renewable, Abundance, Lightweight And Less Abressive ??Etc. Sisal Fiber Usually Obtained From The Leaves Of The Agave Sisalana Plant, Which Is Largely Available In Ethiopia. The Main Purpose Of This Research Is To Develop Sisal Natural Fiber Reinforced Polyester Resin Composite Material And Investigate Its Mechanical Properties Under Various Experimental Conditions For Automotive Applications. In This Paper Sisal Fiber Was Collected From Arengude Bahir, Extracted Manually By The Process Of Decortications From The Sisal Plants, And Treated With 8% Naoh For Further Removal Of Lignin, Hemicelluloses And Other Fiber Remnants For The Improvement Of Bond & Interfacial Shear Strength Of The Sisal Fiber. Then The Test Were Manufactured Using Volume Fraction Of 10/90%, 20/80% And 30/70 Fiber/ Matrix For Both Treated And Untreated Random Oriented Chopped Sisal Fiber Using Hand Lay-Up Assisted By Vacuum Bagging Technique (Havbt). The Tensile, Compression And Impact Properties Of Sisal Fiber Reinforced Polyester Composite Material Were Investigated Using Sisal Fiber Reinforced Polyester Composite Samples According To The Astm Standard And Water Absorption Test Was Carried Out.
