Abstract
The Growing Need Of Eco-Friendly, Low Density, And Light Weight Product Manufacturing Lead To The Development Of Natural Fiber Rienforced Polymer Composites To Suit Various Applications In The Field Of House Hold Product And Automobile Interior Parts. The Objective Of This Work Is To Fabricate And Describe The Processing Techniques Of Specimen Preparation And Conducting Experiment To Investigate The Density, Void Fraction, Water Absorption, Micro Hardness, Tensile Strength, Flexural Strength And Microstructure Test To Al2o3/Sic Filled Jute Fiber Reinforced Polyester Composite. Composite Laminates Were Fabricated Using The Polyester As A Matrix And The Al2o3, Sic And Jute Fiber As A Reinforcement Material With Different Fiber Content, Fiber Orientation And Filler Loading According To The Astm Standard By Hand Lay-Up Technique In A Mold And Cured Under 35 Kg For 24 Hours Followed By Curing At Room Temperature For 48 Hr. The Experimental Results Showed That The Inclusion Of Filler And Fiber In Polyester Resin Improved The Physical And Mechanical Properties Of The Composites. But, Tensile Strength Of Composites Found To Be Decrease With Addition Of Ceramic Powder. The Mechanical Test Results Indicated That The Unidirectional Composite Samples Has High Tensile Value 42.8 Mpa, Has High Vickers Hardness Value 184.53 Hv And Has High Flexural Strength Value 271.47 Mpa. As Ceramic Powder Increase The Water Absorption Of The Sample Decreases. 6.22% Water Intake Obtained From The Chopped Fiber Orientation And Relatively Less 2.153% Obtained From Unidirectional Fiber Orientations. The Interface Between Ceramic Filler, Fiber Content And Matrix Is Observed Through Optical Microscope Analysis Revealing That There Was Good Adhesion Between Fibers And The Matrix, And Al2o3/Sic Powder Was Distributed Uniformly Through Out Laminated Composite That Produced Good Mechanical Properties Of Composite. The Taguchi??S Experimental Design (L9 Orthogonal Array) Was Used To Characteristics The Composites. Results Showed That The Orientation Of Jute Fiber And Concentration Of Sic Ceramic Powder Was The Most I
