Abstract
Metalworking Processes Are Majorly Grouped Into Two Classes Such As Bulk??Forming And Sheet Metal Forming. In The Sheet Metal Forming, Blank Is Plastically Deformed Into The Three dimensional Shape Without Critical Changes In Sheet Thickness. In Order To Deform The Sheet Material To Different Formed Object, The Forming Limit Strains Are Mandatory For Any Metallic Sheet. The Present Thesis Work Is Aimed To Evaluate The Forming Limit Strains Of The En??10149??2 Steel Sheet Metal Of 2.42mm Thickness Under In??Plane Plane??Stretching Condition At Ambient Conditions. En??10149??2 Steel Has Good Mechanical Properties And Light Weight That Increase The Application In Automotive, Aerospace, And Industrial Structural Design Compared To Other Metals. For Which, The Tensile And Plain Stretching Test Samples Were Prepared In Three Rolling Direction 0??, 45?? And 90??. The Mechanical Properties Of En??10149??2 Steel Are Evaluated From The Tensile Testing Such As The Yield Strength, Tensile Strength, Uniform Elongation, Total Elongation, Hardening Exponent (N??Value), Material Strength Coefficient (K) And Plastic Strain Ratio (Rvalue). The Microstructure And Hardness Of The Material Were Also Evaluated. In??Plane Planestretching Evaluation Test Has Been Carried Out By Stamping Circular Grids At Middle Of The Specimen By Which Measured The Minor And Major Strain Using Thickness Gradient Necking Criterion (Tgnc). For Validation Of The Results, Simulations Were Performed Using Pam Stamp 2g A Finite Element Code. The Obtained Results From Experiments And Simulations Found That The Maximum Limit Strain Is Appeared For The Rolling Direction Of 45?? And Followed By The 90?? And 0??. This Indicates That The Maximum Formability Is In 45?? Rolling Direction During In??Plane Planestretching Test. Both Experimental And Simulation Results In??Terms Of Limit Strains From In??Plane Plane??Stretching Test On En ?? 10492??2 Steel Sheet Metal Are In An Acceptable Error Percentage Of 5 To 8 %.
