Transport is key to the growth of the community because it connects inhabitants to schools, markets, housing, recreation, health care, and other vital services. Nowadays, developing nations rely far more on automobiles than industrialized countries. And, as the use of motorized transport grows in developing nations, there are social, economic, and environmental issues that must be addressed. Access to a safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation system is a challenge in Addis Ababa. The study area is located on Woreda two (from Jomo one to Mekenisa road). The distance between Jomo 1 and Mekenisa is 4.1 kilometers. The site contains four nodes: Jomo1, Mikael, Germen Square, and Mekenisa. The primary goal of this research is to investigate the challenges of sustainable urban transport in Addis Ababa city administration, Nefas Silk Lafto sub-city, woreda 2, from Mekenisa to Jemo road, and to develop an alternative solution for sustainable urban transport by using various methods, approaches, and techniques. based on road users' comments, the research of problems for sustainable urban transportation suggests that this road is challenging and requires a solution to establish a sustainable urban transportation system in the study region. To provide an economically, ecologically, and socially sustainable transportation system, an appropriate combination of public transit, motorized autos, and non-motorize transport must be used. The study area faces a lot of challenges like, there high traffic congestion, inadequate mode of transportation especially non-motorized transport system, and also several transport challenges are observed from Mekenisa road to Jemo road. the research identify the challenges by using various methods for sustainable urban transport based on road users' responses reveals that this road is difficult and requires a solution to develop a sustainable urban transportation system in the study area. And NMT offers various advantages in terms of reducing urban transportation challenges.en_US
